Starter Communities: Architecture and Rural Urbanism in Cavite Province

In January 2019 Professor Rafi Segal led a workshop supported by Philippine Transmarine Carriers (PTC),  that examined Starter Communities: Architecture and Rural Urbanism in Cavite Province, Philippines. This workshop was the first phase of a three-year collaboration with PTC, and undertook a regional analysis of Cavite, examining land use, equitable resilience, transportation and access, disaster risk mitigation, climate change adaptation, and sustainable growth. It also began to tackle an urban design proposal for housing at the community scale for the new town of Silang.
