La Pista Workshop

-

On 03/06, the LCAU, with support from Rorra and J-WAFS at MIT, will be hosting an interactive workshop to examine findings and recommendations from our work on water, sanitation, and flooding in a peri-urban migrant and indigenous settlement in Colombia.

Please join us! RSVP here.

We’re also hiring students to work on the project. Visit our Positions page for more information.

This workshop is part of an ongoing collaboration between MIT’s LCAU and the World Food Programme (WFP) Colombia focused on La Pista, an informal settlement in Maicao, La Guajira, Colombia. The project examines water management strategies in communities experiencing severe drought, recurrent flooding.

The workshop will be an open space for discussion; testing assumptions, broadening the range of recommendations under consideration, and reflecting on how technical, governance, and community-led approaches might align.

The conversation will include MIT faculty and researchers, including Sarah Williams, Eran Ben-Joseph, Gabriella Carolini, and Janelle Knox-Hayes, PhD as well as our collaborators from WFP Colombia and the WASH table from the region.
