Waka Lagos: An evaluation of pedestrian access to metro stations in Lagos, Nigeria

Team: Cong Cong (PI), MIT DUSP Lecturer in Urban Science and Planning; Adeposi Adeogun, DUSP Ph.D candidate; and MCP ‘25 Mikel Berra Sandin

Summary: The lack of comprehensive data on pedestrian experiences and infrastructure quality makes it difficult to develop targeted interventions that address the specific walkability needs in Global South cities.

“Receiving this funding will allow us to acquire crucial data, conduct field visits to ground-truth our findings, and integrate community insights into our analysis. This support is essential for developing a comprehensive and actionable walking infrastructure map for Lagos and improving pedestrian conditions in the city.”
