Ashley Louie
Ashley is a Research Associate at the Norman B. Leventhal Center for Advanced Urbanism and the Civic Data Design Lab, who works at the intersection of public interest technology, data visualization, and communication design. With a passion for improving cities, engaging people, and serving communities, Ashley has led research projects that center data-driven narratives for cultural, environmental, social advocacy, including migration studies with the World Food Programme and documenting Beirut craftsmanship through the Living Heritage Atlas.
Previously, Ashley worked at BetaNYC, as the Chief Technology Officer, where she led research and projects through data analysis and visual communication of information in innovative and creative ways. With a background in architecture and urban design, Ashley holds a Master of Science in Architecture and Urban Design from Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation (GSAPP), where she was awarded the GSAPP Visualization Award; and a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Southern California.
