Weiyi Cao

Visiting Scholar

Weiyi Cao is currently a visiting Ph.D student at LCAU and CDDL for the Spring of 2024. She is pursuing her Ph.D in Urban Economics at Wageningen University in the Netherlands, where her research focuses on the project of Urban Housing of Migrants in the Netherlands and China. Her research interests lie at the intersection of economics, sociology, and urban planning, and she employs both qualitative and quantitative methods in my research. 

 Throughout her doctoral studies, she has focused on understanding housing disparities in costs and satisfaction among migrants, particularly through gender and ethnic lenses. She has also supervised several Bachelor's theses and taught courses including Urban Economics and Analysis, Rural Households and Livelihood Strategies, and Economics of Consumption, Welfare, and Society.  Prior to her doctoral studies, she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from Southeast University and a Master's Degree in Design Studies from Harvard University.
